Telekom Slovenije brings local ads to international TV channels
 02 Oct 2026
Leading video software provider Synamedia announced that Telekom Slovenije, Slovenia’s largest provider of telecommunications and TV services, is opening up new advertising opportunities on international linear TV channels using Synamedia Iris. The new service enables advertising airtime on international channels to be sold locally, giving brands new ways to reach TV audiences in Slovenia.

Managed by TSmedia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Telekom Slovenije Group, the service uses Synamedia Iris ad regionalization technology to replace international ad spots with locally sold advertising for Slovenian audiences. This allows TSmedia to monetize advertising opportunities on international channels that were previously unavailable to the local market.

The service currently supports advertising on AMC and BBC. TSmedia can plan and schedule local campaigns using its existing advertising workflows, while Telekom Slovenije can use its existing TV infrastructure with no changes required to viewers’ set-top boxes.

TSmedia chose Synamedia for its experience in delivering tailored advertising solutions for tier-one operators and its ability to integrate ad regionalization into existing broadcast and advertising workflows.

Igor Gajster, Managing Director, TSmedia, said, “Our goal is to provide advertisers with access to high-quality audiences and premium content environments. Synamedia Iris enables us to effectively connect international television content with local advertising opportunities. With AMC and BBC we are expanding our TV advertising offering and giving brands new opportunities to engage viewers through relevant and effective campaigns. This marks an important step in the development of our advertising ecosystem, bringing together linear television, digital media and targeted advertising solutions.”

Guy Southam, Senior Product Director, Synamedia Iris, added, “International channels have traditionally been difficult for local advertisers to access. We’re now seeing operators find new ways to turn the reach of their TV services into valuable local advertising opportunities. Telekom Slovenije and TSmedia are a great example: creating new value from their existing infrastructure while giving local advertisers new ways to reach premium TV audiences. Synamedia Iris makes this possible with a flexible approach that works within operators’ existing TV architecture rather than requiring them to rethink it.”

The launch marks a further step in TSMedia’s advertising strategy by providing a path to expand the service to additional international channels and create more opportunities for local brands to connect with Slovenian TV audiences.
