Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of media and entertainment powerhouse Banijay Entertainment, announces two new international adaptations of iconic global cookery format MasterChef, set to launch in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan next year.

MasterChef Uzbekistan will debut on broadcaster Zo’r TV with a 10-episode run produced by New Media Group. Meanwhile, public broadcaster Ictimai TV will bring a 10-episode series of MasterChef Azerbaijan to screen.

The adaptations follow news of the upcoming return of MasterChef Asia which will air in India, Southeast Asia, Greater China, Japan, Korea and Middle East, and is produced by Warner Bros. Discovery and CreAsia Studio – part of Endemol Shine India; as well as expansion in Africa with MasterChef Nigeria for Primedia and South America as MasterChef returns to TVN in Chile, taking the total number of commissions to 74 markets globally.

The deals were brokered by Alexander Rubanov, VP Romania, CIS, Ukraine, Georgia, Baltics & Turkey, Banijay Rights, who said: “Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan represent exciting new frontiers for MasterChef, and it’s hugely rewarding to see the format’s footprint continue to grow not only there, but also across the world. Represented internationally by Banijay Entertainment, MasterChef is the world’s most successful cookery television format for which it holds a Guinness World Record. The life-changing show has aired over 750 seasons with more than 16,000 episodes to-date. Created by Franc Roddam and first launched in 1990, the superbrand continues to be grow and be enjoyed across the globe.
